The voting has been completed for the Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce 2023 awards.
The 2023 Business of the Year winner is Dolk Tractor Company, Inc.
The 2023 Service Business of the Year winner is F & M Bank.
The 2023 Retail Business of the Year winner is Foster’s Bighorn.
The 2023 Non-profit Business of the Year voting resulted in a tie between RioVision and RV 2 the Rescue.
Our 2023 New Business of the Year is Java Jack’s 160.
We are introducing a new category this year in recognition of a growing business segment, that of businesses that don’t have brick and mortar locations. The winner of our 2023 Home-based Business is Best 4 U Travel.
Of course, we also need to recognize the volunteers who make all our non-profits work. The recipient of our 2023 Volunteer of the Year is the Chamber of Commerce’s Karen Dozier (the Chamber of Commerce Treasurer).
In recognition of her many years of managing our vendors at the Bass Derby & Festival, Barbara Lee is named 2023 Ms Bass Derby & Festival.
The 2023 Youth Volunteer of the Year winner is
Leyun Liu.
At the awards dinner RioVision will hand out their award for Spirit of Rio Vista. This year they have chosen the Beacon’s Cindy Green, a recognition very much deserved!
We want to congratulate all the winners. Each winner receives two free tickets to the awards dinner to be held the evening of May 17 at the Point Restaurant. The dinner starts at 5:30 PM. Those wishing to purchase tickets may contact the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center at 33 N. Second Street during our operating hours of Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM. Tickets are $50.
We are also looking for silent auction items for the dinner. All items are due to the Chamber by Monday, May 13.
