Rio Fit 2, a new locally owned fitness facility, is bringing a fresh, community-focused approach to health and wellness, with its grand opening set for April 13. They will be located at 200 Main Street, Rio Vista.
Founded by 29-year-old entrepreneur Eric Lomeli, a Northern California native from Clarksburg, the gym was built on values of discipline, hard work, and family. Lomeli has spent the past nine years working in Rio Vista for Asta Construction and as a truck driver in the gas field, building strong ties within the community. Asta Construction is very excited and supportive of the grand opening for Rio Fit 2.
His passion for fitness began early, competing in bodybuilding from ages 18 to 20. After stepping away due to work demands, he returned to training with renewed purpose while pursuing a career as a correctional officer.
As both a business owner and family man, Lomeli created Rio Fit 2 to offer a welcoming environment where individuals and families can improve their health, build confidence, and stay consistent.
“Fitness is not just about working out — it’s about discipline, balance, and showing up for yourself and your family,” Lomeli said.
Rio Fit 2 aims to provide a supportive space for all fitness levels, focusing on long-term health and a strong sense of community. The youngest age to join is 13, with adult supervision, for ages 13-15.
