Lane Eggars, a senior at Rio Vista High School is the Soroptimist student of the month. He and his parents along with his three sisters live in Rio Vista; Lane is a native of Rio Vista. The Agriculture Department nominated Lane for this honor.
Lane’s favorite class subjects are “any Ag class”, history and English.
Awards and honors received by Lane are Academic All-League, State Future Farmers of America Degree, Top 10 Junior, Top Ten Senior and WUE Scholar at Colorado State.
Lane’s club membership and offices held are Chapter President and reporter for the Future Farmers of America, President of the Music Club and President of Rotary Interact Club. In sports Lane played varsity golf and was on the wrestling team. Outside school activities included five years with the 4-H Club and the Rotary Club.
Lane’s special interest is in political activism and he enjoys playing the drums.
Lane will be majoring in Animal Science at Colorado State University. He would like to thank his step-father, Tony Bettencourt for introducing him and encouraging him to pursue the Industry of Agriculture.
