Rio Vista City Boat Launch gets Makeover

Work progresses, boat launch as of September 1, 2020

The City of Rio Vista’s well-used and revenue-generating boat launch was built over 50 years ago and has been in active use by casual boaters and fishermen to this day.  At the end of 2019, the city got funding and approvals allowing us to replace the outmoded and deteriorating launch facilities.  Work began at the end of July 2020  and will continue until January 2021.  The cost to replace the launch will be approximately $1.2 million, with nearly 90% of it covered by State of California grants.

With the bass fishing season rapidly approaching, boaters will still have the nearby Delta Marina Yacht Harbor boat launch available.  However, the 73rd  annual Bass Festival has been canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We look forward to the festival resuming in 2021 and the new boat launch in full operation then.
