The 127th Rio Vista Isleton Club Holy Ghost Festa will be held Sunday, August 2nd. The Rio Vista Isleton Club Holy Ghost has sustained since 1899. Many of the families that are a part of the club today, have ancestors that were part of the club’s inception. The families, the supporting communities, and friends are the foundation that has kept The Rio Vista Isleton Club Holy Ghost Festa a constant for 127 years.
Our incoming Queens are rich with Portuguese lineage. Both Queens’ families have participated and been a part of The Rio Vista Isleton Club Holy Ghost as members, Queens, serving on our board and serving as officers.
The 2026-2027 Baby Queen is Annily Lira. Annily is the daughter of Jason and Nicole Lira of Rio Vista. Annily’s Aunt Jessica had the honor of serving as all 3 Queens and her Grandmother, Patty Lira, played an active role in the Club and the Holy Ghost Festa for many years. Walking alongside Annily as side maids will be her sister, Isabelle Lira and her cousin Brielle Enriquez.
The 2026-2027 Junior Queen is Sophia Maduena. Sophia is the daughter of Nicholas and Stephanie Maduena of Rio Vista. Sophia’s family have served as previous Queens for the Holy Ghost Festa, including her Grandmother Jeannette Souza, her Great Aunt, and cousin. Sophia’s family has been rooted in the Rio Vista Isleton Club for many generations. Walking alongside Sophia as side maids will be her cousins, Isabella and Gabriella Nava.
The Rio Vista Isleton Club Holy Ghost Festa is honored to be represented by two Queens rich in Portuguese family history, tradition, faith, and community. Both Queens are proud to carry on their family legacies and create their own paths within the Portuguese community.
Representing Queen Isabella is Presley DaCruz. Presley is the daughter of Barry and Lisa DaCruz. Presley is also an asset to RVICHG. She helps prepare the meat for sopas and run the kitchen during our sopas feed. Presley’s family, the DaCruz family, has prepared the traditional sopas for many years. A tradition that keeps our community together.
Sunday August 2nd, the Festa will begin at 295 S 7th Street, with the parade at 10:30 am. The parade will proceed down Main Street. The parade will showcase the Queens and Clubs around the valley. Mass will take place at 11:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The first public feeding of sopas will begin at 10:30 am. The live auction will begin at 2:00 pm. There will be linguica sandwiches and sweet bread for sale, twister booth for the kids and Avila Imports selling Portuguese goods. This will take place at 295 S 7th St., Rio Vista.
