They’re Baa-baa-back!

The popular McCormack Ranch Sheepdog Trial returns to the event lineup! Save the dates, Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The McCormack Ranch is located on Montezuma Hills Road west of Rio Vista. With the Sacramento River and Mount Diablo in the background, over 60 dogs and their handlers from several western states converge in hopes of winning a place in the United States Border Collie Handlers Association Sheepdog Finals held in, Middletown, VA September 30th thru October 6th.

The event is open to the public. Daily admission is $35 for adults and children 13 years and older, children 12 and under are $5. Tickets are available at the RioVision Gallery, 116 Main St., Rio Vista or online at Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mccormack-ranch-sheep-dog-trial-tickets-872110023557. Tickets are  limited to 500 for each day. The event takes place rain or shine, so tickets are non-refundable. Take a hayride from the parking lot to the event. Handicap parking and access to the event is available.

Smokin’ Ewe food truck returns to Rio Vista on Saturday, May 4th to quiet that rumbling tummy or quench your thirst. Sunday will feature another sustainable food vendor for food and refreshments. Bring your appetite, a blanket,  folding chairs and don’t forget your binoculars! This is an alcohol free event.

The only animals allowed at the dog trial are those dogs participating in the contest or service dogs.
