A Customer’s Journey to Running the Show!

It’s Women’s History Month next month. An early start on a story!

The crew at Contra Costa Radiator, in Rio Vista!

Jacque Bowers-Hunt never imagined she would be running Contra Costa Radiator in Rio Vista 11 years ago when she walked in for an oil change.

Not knowing a thing about cars when she came to drop her car off. It was a busy day for Rick Frampton, the owner, as he was without a secretary.

Taking action, Jacque was a customer; however, she started to answer the phones and helped as much as she could. Rick was impressed and offered her a job. At the time, she was a stay-at-home mother of a 3-year-old son and initially declined. Rick persisted until she eventually said yes!

Jacque was raised in Rio Vista on Sherman Island Rd., where she boated, camped, and fished on the Delta. She went to school in Isleton and high school in Rio Vista.

She spent a few years in Sacramento after graduating before returning to Rio Vista. In-home health care was her first passion, and she worked in the Bay Area for over 7 years. Taking care of a family member and even living with a
client for a while.

As she oversees the daily operations of the shop, it is clear that she is kind and considerate. She communicates with Rick and the mechanics and makes appointments, estimates, and does the invoices. A full-service auto repair shop, Contra Costa Radiator, even provides free rides and pick-ups. She manages the storage area as well.

The business has been in operation for a long time, and Tibo, one of the mechanics, has worked there for 22 years. They’re also very dog-friendly. Chubz, who spearheads customer relations, Tule, and Chancett will welcome you.

Over the years, Jacque has seen a lot of people enter the building. One amusing story is that a customer was positive her CV shaft was failing after doing some online research. It turned out, her husband had not tightened the lug nuts enough.

There are many wonderful women in business, and especially in Rio Vista. Let’s see what the future holds for Jacque.

Time will tell…………..
