Bridging the Differences: Foreign Languages and Virtual Tours as Gifts and From the Comfort of Your Home

Daniela DeGregorio

Daniela De Gregorio moved to Rio Vista in March 2020. Precisely on March 9, 2020 on the same day that in Italy the incoming and outgoing borders were closed, due to the Covid epidemic. In any case, everything had been planned for long time because Daniela decided to leave the beautiful and world-renowned city of Como, overlooking the homonym lake, in northern Italy, to start a new chapter in her life with Tom Kelly, American citizen and insurance broker, her boyfriend for several years and now husband.

Moving to Rio Vista, in sunny California, Daniela has also chosen to set aside the profession of Civil Lawyer (without completely abandoning being still registered with the Como Bar Association), an experience that she has cultivated for more than twenty years in Italy, focusing above all on family law, separations, divorces, adoption and juvenile court Cases.

She has also practiced as Certified Mediator and Master Negotiator for almost ten years in Italy. Besides that she has experienced teaching and training for professionals, in different legal subject matters.

In California she wishes to practice as Mediator and Negotiator. She aims to help people finding agreements in family issues, even in the highest conflictual cases, avoiding the suffering of a judgment and the legal costs of a divorce.

The experience she has cultivated over many years of profession, both as a lawyer and as a Mediator and Negotiator, is something she wants to put to good use for the community of Rio Vista and Solano County.

Her philosophy is to give space to people, to feel heard in their native language so that they can feel welcomed, understood, and respected in their emotional needs. She is convinced that being able to understand nuances of cross-culture issues and biases, lead to better communication and to achieve conflicts solution effectively.

Daniela is fluent in three languages, (French, English and Spanish) in addition, of course, to her mother tongue Italian. Knowledge of foreign languages comes from multi-year of studies in school and travels.

In order to let residents of Rio Vista and Solano County appreciate the importance of knowledge of foreign languages, besides the beauty and richness of culture and traditions of European States, such as Italy and France, Daniela has created language courses, in Italian and French, designing classes with different options and possibilities to attend. In fact, the courses are offered online and in-person, under the Logo “Bridging the Differences”, which resumes the idea that the communication and mutual understanding of behaviors, within people from different countries and cultures, can be facilitate through the knowledge of foreign languages. The Classic method will give the opportunity to learn grammar, slangs, gestures, idioms, with particular attention to the pronunciation, thanks to audios and different exercises of listening. The Innovative method includes sessions with Video and Virtual tours, Songs, traditional Cooking Recipes from Italy and France, besides Grammar, Conversation and Tips to visit the two countries.

The two series of classes will have different commitment and involvement and students will be engaged with 5 Senses.

That means: 1) Touching the traditions of two Countries, 2) Open eyes on professional opportunities,3) Listen to voices from foreign realities, 4) Smell the atmosphere of two great cultures, 5) Taste new learning experiences.

Participation can be individual or in a group, in person or online, always with attention to maximum interactivity for the participants.

The series of classes can be a nice idea to give Culture as a gift.

For this reason, there are packages of 10 lessons that will be available with a total discount and a complimentary lesson, as a coherence award in participation.

Daniela De Gregorio assures that learning foreign languages will be fun and undoubtedly a good way to socialize and to feel comfortable and even more welcome in Europe.

It will be a real immersion in the millennial tradition of two incredible countries, such as France and Italy and students will be able to acquire a conversational level, that will be comfortable for traveling or just to approach people from different cultures, or for aiming to a personal growth and new professional opportunities, here in the USA.

There will be occasions to meet the teacher in person and to have a preview of the courses on June 18, 2022, at 11.30 am at the Delta Looptivity Center (www.deltalooptivity.com – 352 552-6928) 169 W. Brannan Island, Isleton, Ca.

and on June 7th, at 4pm, at the Italian Bistrot “Amore” (707-752-4300   in Benicia .

The classes, offered in person, will be kept in the same places.

The direct contacts to book lessons, in person or online, with Daniela De Gregorio are as follows: degregorio.italy@gmail.com – cell 510 673 8769.
