November 26
A vehicle was reported stolen from North Front Street under the overpass. The owner returned to this parking space and saw that his truck was missing. It was located the following day on the other side of the Rio Visa Bridge. A suspect is named and charges are pending.
November 28
A resident on River Road reported that their trailer had been broken into. They found damage on the front door and some missing electronics. The victim of the theft did not feel comfortable having an officer inside the trailer to investigate the scene. There was no surveillance footage in the area either. Since the victim would not allow a full investigation, officers will be looking out for the stolen items, but cannot investigate further at this point.
November 29
Officers responded to a home for a reported domestic violence call. The husband and wife had been arguing and the husband had pushed his wife out of the room and then left the home. Because the law mandates a report and arrest happen for any physical domestic violence, the wife no longer wanted to cooperate. She did not want her husband to go to jail and officers were not able to locate him in the area. This case is being forwarded to the DA for charges.
November 30
Sometime over a 24 hour period, a resident had items stolen from their unlocked car. ????
A vehicle was travelling on River Road with no license plate and a cracked windshield. As an officer made a u-turn to pull the vehicle over, the car took off at a high speed. They drove over the bridge and away from town. Officers continued to pursue as allied agencies were responding to take over. The vehicle turned onto a very rough dirt road and the officer decided it was safest to terminate the pursuit. They searched the area, but did not find anything at the time. The following day, they continued the investigation and learned who may have been driving the car. This investigation is ongoing.
December 1
Officers responded to Rio Vista Ford for a report of a single vehicle collision where the driving damaged property. The driver had driven over the lawn and struck and destroyed a sign. The driver said he was traveling eastbound and another car tried to pass him, may have struck him and forced him off the road. Witnesses are still being contacted and this case is under investigation.
Our CSO took a report of vandalism at the Moose Lodge. A cable/internet wire had been cleanly cut and could only be described as intentional. We are looking for surveillance video to determine an exact time frame and see who may have been in the area at the time.
December 2
An officer was alerted to a possible stolen vehicle driving through town. He located the car and was able to pull it over with no issue. He used the VIN number to confirm the license plate and owner and learned the car was actually reported stolen. The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. An officer was in the area of Front Street and hear loud exhaust in the area. He went toward Main Street and saw two cars on Main Street take off at a high speed. One vehicle stopped when he saw the officer, but the other car tried to drive away and passed at high speeds in the wrong lane. The officer caught up to that car and pulled him over. He was only 16 years old, so he was charged with driving recklessly and was released with a misdemeanor citation to his father
