Local Gift Certificates Solve the Gift Quandary

Finding ideal Christmas gifts for neighbors, friends and family can be a challenge. Why not make it easier on yourself this year by getting “three-fers,” gift certificates that make you feel good, please the recipient, and help small local businesses at the same time?

The solution is Rio Vista First Gift Certificates, sold by the Chamber of Commerce. These certificates, sold in any denomination up to $100, can be used at a wide variety of local businesses. They include:

AAA Water Ionizers
Ace Hardware
AJK Unique Emporium
Art for All Reasons
Books Rio V
Burgerlicious
Color Me Wonderful
Delta Baking Company
Delta Pharmacy
Donnelly Floral & Event Design
Empowering Marketing Products
Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant
Lira’s Supermarket
Lucy’s Cafe
Pets 4 All
The Point Restaurant
RioVision Gallery
Rio Vista Farms

Rio Vista Visitor Center
Robin’s Nest Thrift Store & Robin’s Hot Dogs
Sam’s Bakery & Catering
Tortilla Flats

There is something here for just about anyone to pick up items they need, they want, or they wish for. For example, a $30 certificate could buy dinner for two from Sam’s Bakery & Catering, Burgerlicious, Tortilla Flats or Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant. A $60 certificate can result in a beautiful bouquet from Donnelly’s Floral, or a 6-inch incredible cake from Delta Baking Company, or even dinner for two at The Point or Lucy’s Cafe.  And of course, any amount can come in handy for useful essentials at Delta Pharmacy, Pets 4 All, Lira’s Supermarket and Ace Hardware.

For those that are hard to shop for, a certificate can allow them to pick out a gift they truly want at AJK Unique Emporium, RioVision Gallery, Books Rio V, Robin’s Nest Thrift, and even Rio Vista Farms.

Pushing the holiday giving idea even further, one resident recently purchased a quantity of $10 certificates to give to the Rio Vista Food Pantry, so that they could hand them out to selected customers to purchase extras at Lira’s.

To redeem the certificates, the recipients just need to hand them over to the cashier at the participating business during checkout. The business then turns the used certificates into the Chamber, which then reimburses them. It’s a way to promote the use of local businesses in a welcoming, hassle-free way.

To purchase certificates, contact KC Nash, the Chamber’s Operations Director, by email at info@riovista.org or call the Chamber office at 707-374-2700. She will arrange for pick up at the Rio Vista Visitor Center, 33 N. 2nd Street, or delivery via US Post office. To make sure you receive the certificates by Christmas, please place orders no later than Dec. 18.
