Trinidad Arceo is a biologist by training, having earned his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and now pursuing a master’s degree at San Francisco State University. He currently studies epilepsy using zebrafish models to better understand how brain cells are affected overtime.
With hours spent commuting to and from school, Trinidad found himself with plenty of time to
think. It was during those long drives, and familiar waits at the bridge, that the idea for Scoopy Doo began to take shape.
What started as a simple side project has recently launched as a local pet waste removal service, built to serve residents while Trinidad continues his graduate studies and stays connected to the Rio Vista community.
A Rio Vista resident since 2022, Trinidad understands the challenge of balancing work, family,
and daily responsibilities. With a newborn at home and two hounds of his own, he understands
how keeping up with yard cleanup can easily fall down the priority list.
His dogs, Teddy, a bluetick coonhound, and Batatas (buh-TAY-dus), also known as “Tater-Bean,” a treeing walker coonhound, are often by his side. It was while cleaning up after them that
Trinidad realized he could not be the only busy pet owner struggling to keep up.
“That’s when I knew this could help other families too,” he said.
Scoopy Doo now offers dependable pet waste removal for busy households, seniors, and
residents with disabilities, helping keep yards clean and neighborhoods sanitary. The service
also provides discounted rates for seniors and residents with disabilities.
Looking ahead, Trinidad hopes to grow Scoopy Doo steadily while continuing his studies, with the goal of building a long-term, community-focused business that residents can rely on.
