Bounty of the County Celebrates Solano-Grown Food with Tours, Tastings & Farm-to-Table Dinners

Bounty of the County will celebrate Solano’s farms, food, wine and beer from Sept. 23 through Oct. 11 through events that include free farmers market cooking demonstrations and ticketed tours and farm-to-table events.

The Fall 2023 Bounty of the County will have special events and dinners in Dixon, Fairfield and Vallejo. Next year’s Bounty of the County will bring in-person events to Vacaville, Benicia and Rio Vista.

Sustainable Solano, which organizes Bounty of the County and supports and connects the participating farms and restaurants, seeks to promote the local food system, particularly food grown in Solano County and the businesses that are sourcing from local farms.

Participating Solano County farms include Be Love Farm, Eatwell Farm, Lockewood Acres, Ruhstaller Farm and Terra Firma Farm. Each event highlights local chefs as they create dishes with Solano-grown produce and many offer an opportunity to connect with local wine, beer or spirits. Bounty of the County also creates opportunities to introduce residents to new home kitchen operations that use local produce.

You are invited to learn more about local food, how you can support your local food system and delicious ways to prepare Solano produce (and pair it with Solano wines, beers and spirits)!

Highlights this year include:

Free Farmers Market Cooking Demonstrations

Ticketed Farm-to-Table Events

Cocktail

This is the fourth year for Bounty of the County, which has evolved each time to best serve the interests and needs of the community and the farms, restaurants and others it promotes.

Bounty of the County was originally envisioned by Sustainable Solano in partnership with the Solano County Fairgrounds as a large, in-person celebration of Solano-grown farms, food, wine and beer. When the initial event was still in planning, Covid precautions pushed the 2020 Bounty of the County to a virtual format, with online chef demonstrations and interviews with farmers, chefs, and winemakers. The 2021 Bounty of the County continued with video farm profiles and chef demonstrations with Solano produce. The 2022 Bounty of the County was celebrated through in-person events, including a special Bounty of the County event at the Solano County Fair.
