Rio Vista PD Crime Log November 6th-12th

*Names and other specific information to identify persons are intentionally omitted.  All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.  Charges may be changed or dropped.  This is not a reflection of every police activity, but rather a selective summary.

November 6^th

• Units responded to the 300 block of Riverwood Lane for a residential alarm.  Officers checked the residence and found it to be secure.
• Units were dispatched to the 200 block of Springhill Drive to assist a citizen with a “beeping” alarm.  It was discovered to be a fire alarm that needed to have the battery changed.

November 7^th

• Dispatch received a 911 call from a cell phone.  The location of the phone was plotting to an address in the 600 block of Cypress Drive.  Upon arriving, officers contacted a resident who stated it was an accidental dial.

November 8^th

• Units were dispatched to the Riverview Middle School regarding a fire alarm activation.  The alarm was determined to be false and after officers check the campus, students returned to class.

November 10^th

• Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of St. Joseph Street for subjects sleeping in an unsecured building.  The subjects left before officers arrived, however the property manager informed the officers there were some tools missing.  The officers could not confirm the subjects sleeping in the building where responsible for the missing tools however a crime report was taken.
• Officers responded to the Real McCoy Ferry to assist CHP with a possible DUI driver.  Officers arrived and found a vehicle stopped on the ferry.  The vehicle was missing one tire and the driver was sleeping behind the wheel.  Officers had the driver conduct a series of Field Sobriety Tests and ultimately arrested them for driving under the influence.  The vehicle was towed, and the driver was booked into the county jail. 

November 11^th

• Rio Vista Police Department deployed supplemental staffing to conduct traffic enforcement within the city.  The additional enforcement resulted in numerous citations for various traffic violations.

November 12^th

• Officers were dispatched to McDonalds regarding a possible DUI driver.  Officers arrived within 2 minutes of being dispatched, but the driver had already left.  The officers conducted an area check for the vehicle, but were unable to locate it.
