Solano Land Trust will host a series of training days for new and returning docents beginning Saturday, January 24th at 9 a.m. at Rush Ranch. Community members are invited to join this recruiting event to become part of a dedicated group of enthusiastic land ambassadors who help bring Solano Land Trust’s mission to life. Participants will learn how the Land Trust works to protect open space and foster a lifelong connection to the land. The program also emphasizes building a strong conservation and stewardship ethic within the community by engaging the next generation of land stewards.
Those who complete the training will be prepared to lead guided tours throughout the year at beautiful, protected properties including Vallejo-Swett Ranches, Lynch Canyon Open Space, Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park, Jepson Prairie Preserve, and Rush Ranch Open Space.
In addition, Solano Land Trust has a special need for field trip docents to support school programs on select Tuesdays and Thursdays between February and June 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., helping provide meaningful outdoor learning experiences for local students.
The January 24th, February 21st, and February 28th trainings are all mandatory for new docents. The January 31st training is specific to docents interested in leading field trips.
