June 25th
• An officer conducted a traffic stop for a minor vehicle code violation. The driver was found to have a felony arrest warrant out of El Dorado Count. The driver was subsequently arrested and transport to the Solano County Jail.
June 27th
• An officer conducted a traffic stop for a minor vehicle code violation. During the stop it was discovered the driver had an outstanding felony warrant and was subsequently arrested.
• During another traffic stop for a minor vehicle code violation an officer discovered another drier who had a felony warrant for their arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of methamphetamine, Xanex pills and a scale. In addition to the warrant, the driver was arrested for Possession of narcotics for sale.
June 28th
• Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person sleeping along a neighbor’s fence. Upon contact, officers discovered the subject had an outstanding felony warrant out of San Joaquin County. The subject was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail.
June 29th

This morning, an Isleton resident who was the victim of a burglary contacted Rio Vista Police Officer Wilson. The resident is a concrete contractor and sadly, his livelihood was stolen from him when thousands of dollars in tools and his truck were taken. The victim’s truck was equipped with GPS so he had reason to believe the suspect may be in Rio Vista. Officer Wilson scoured the city until he located our suspect towing a trailer (which had an unreported stolen license plate) with a different. The trailer was full of our victim’s stolen tools. Unfortunately, the truck GPS was disabled before we were able to locate and recover it. Our victim and his pregnant wife arrived at the scene, spreading gratitude and happiness, ultimately collecting his stolen tools so he can get back to earning a living for his growing family!
June 30th
• Officer Cruz responded for a reported Hit and Run (non-injury) vehicle accident at Highway 12 and Summerset Road. A witness was able to provide a license plate for the responsible vehicle and after a thorough investigation, the responsible was contacted at their residence. The victim of the collision didn’t wish to press charges and an exchange of information was provided for insurance purposes.
July 2nd
• An officer was flagged down at Lira’s Supermarket regarding a shoplifter. The shoplifter fled on foot and evaded officers. The suspect was seen a short time later by officers and again fled on foot into a backyard in the 100 block of N. 6th Street. Rio Vista Officers quickly established a perimeter around the area and Deputies from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist in searching for the suspect. The Rio Vista PD canine lead the search for the suspect, and he was apprehended attempting to flee across Highway 12 by a Rio Vista Officer and Solano Sheriff’s Deputy.
July 4th
• Officers responded to the 500 block of River Road for a possible restraining order violation. After meeting with the victim of the violation, the responsible was issued a citation for violating the terms of the restraining order.
• An officer conducted a traffic stop on a reckless driver. Upon initial contact with the two occupants, it was alleged the driver (male) and passenger (female) were fighting. Further investigation revealed it was a verbal argument, however the driver was under the influence. The driver refused to complete any Field Sobriety Tests (FST’s) or provide a breath sample to assist officers in determining if he was safe to operate a vehicle. The driver was ultimately arrested and a warrant was authored to obtain his blood.
• Officers arrested subject in the 500 block of River Road for violation of a restraining order.
July 5th
• Officer responded to McDonald’s reference a customer in the driver through yelling at employees and forcing the drive through window open. After arriving and speaking with both parties, the customer left the scene without further incident.
July 6th
• Officers responded to Delta Marina regarding a theft of a vessel. It was later discovered the theft was unfounded.
• Officers responded to the Delta Pharmacy for a welfare check. A male subject was seen sleeping in a running vehicle for over an hour. When officers arrived the contacted the subject and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was later arrested for DUI and an outstanding warrant.
July 7th
• Officers responded to the 300 block of Springhill Drive for a theft and restraining order violation. The stolen items were located a short time later and returned to the owner and a report was submitted to the District Attorney’s Office regarding the restraining order violation.
• An officer responded to Highway 12 at Virginia Drive for a reported hit and run. During the investigation it was determined the incident was not a hit and run traffic collision, but an assault in which the driver of the responsible vehicle pushed the victim’s vehicle with his truck, causing damage to the victims vehicle. The suspect then fled the area. The victim provided the officer with a photograph of the responsible vehicle and it’s license plate. The information was used to identify the suspect. The assault report was authored and sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
July 8th
• An officer took a stolen vehicle report for an unreturned U-Haul trailer from the 80
block of Main Street.
July 9th
• Officer took a theft report of a stolen catalytic convert from Tahoe Drive.
